Target Practice!

As I was leafing through my KIDFUN book, I found Target Practice, which could be anything you can imagine — anything safe, that is!

Try some of these ideas: …. set up a paper cup on a step outdoors. Give your child a basting tube or cleaned out squeeze bottle filled with water, step back about three feet, maybe more, and aim for the target and spray! Can she knock it down? Try it with a Rubber Duckie to make it wobble! Try it with some other plastic items, perhaps a few blocks piled on top of each other. The best part of this activity is playing with water on a hot day and being outdoors whether you live in the city and only have a front step or you have a backyard with a picnic table and benches to rest your objects on.

Perhaps, the most fun part of this KIDFUN idea is creating it with your child … seeking the objects in the toy closet or kitchen for this simple activity of Target Practice!

Sharla Feldscher has always been a "kid-believer!" She's written six books on creative activities to enjoy with young children and has written for magazines, newspapers, broadcast media and now has this blog with one easy-to-do KIDFUN tip each blog. She is also the owner of a public relations business in Philadelphia.
