Adventure Drives
One of my favorite things is getting in the car without knowing where we are going. Just driving around — taking unexpected turns. We live in New Jersey and on this adventure, my son-in-law did have a plan for us. It was a surprise. We drove into the Pine Barrens – this vast wooded land that takes up a large part of the state. When you find something interesting on your adventure, be sure to get out of the car and take pictures.
This one says it all … “OMG! We found cranberry bogs!” As we were driving in this wooded area, all of a sudden we noticed burgundy colored patches and there they were — cranberries! (Okay, I used the colorizing app on my phone with this photo because they weren’t quite so bright!) It was very cool. We even drove past Ocean Spray.
The adventures continued — into wooded paths, going to an amazing farmer’s market (the Red Barn in Hammonton — bringing home muffins), finding a nearby airport even with a NJ State Trooper helicopter and more! There’s always something fun and unexpected on these travels. What you have to take with you — is a sense of adventure, an open-mindedness and carefree nature. Just plan enough time and take a camera (or have your phone to take pictures!)
It’s the best kind of KIDFUN — it’s fun for all of us “kids!”
