Eco-Friendly Holiday Gift Tags

I just learned a great way to make holiday gift tags from someone who not only does great things with her kids but cares about the environment. Julie Hayes, who is marketing manager of Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP, the environmental law firm based in the Philadelphia area, doesn’t let those adorable birthday and holiday cards go to waste.

She and her daughters, Alyssa, 8, and Leah 6, tear the front sides off the cards and use them for tags. You know, the kind of cards with beautiful illustrations on the front and blank on the opposite side. They cut them into small fun shapes, just big enough to write a little note with their names on the back. I bet you could use those zig zig-edged pinking shears to make them really cute. Anyway, punch a hole on the top and pull through a ribbon or colorful string, and there you have it …. a beautiful, eco-friendly gift tag to use for birthday and holiday presents.

Could be a fun project for a rainy day or, if your kids watch TV, to keep them creative at the same time! Perfect for KIDFUN! Thanks, Julie!
