Wanta’ Make a Scarecrow?

Can you make a scarecrow at home — in your backyard,of course? It could be a great family project. I’ll admit, we did it at a fair but it shouldn’t be too hard — just a little ambitious. Is there a farm near you? Start by  buying some hay! Then take an old sweater, jeans, panty hose and a piece of twine and start stuffing. Do you know what the top of the panty hose is? That’s the head. After the jeans and shirt are stuffed, stuff the top of the pantyhose only. Then tuck the legs into the neck of the shirt, pull tight and tie them to a loop in the jeans. The jeans are made tight by tying the twine through the belt loops.

That’s pretty much all you do. Plus have a fight with the hay and, definitely, make a mess outside! …. Try it — You might have to refine these directions just a little to work best for you. OH, don’t forget to give a name to your scarecrow and find some cool way to display him or her outside!
