Remember their ABILITIES!

Last night was one of those special nights, the kind you never forget and, before I describe it, I want to encourage everyone to look at your child’s abilities, the good qualities he or she has, their unique talent and help them focus on that, not the things they are not able to do. I’ll explain.

To celebrate the children of Philadelphia’s Variety — The Children’s Charity, a fabulous show was presented at the Prince Music Theater. It’s Eddie Bruce’s Kids with Heart Talent Show. Eddie, who many of you know, is not only an amazing singer and performer, he’s a man with a huge heart who wanted to help kids who have disabilities to focus on the positive and to have one night where they are the STARS! And, they were! 20 kids performed — they sang, played piano, danced, played the drums, even did a comedy routine. These are kids who rarely have a chance to be a “star”, because they face so many challenges in life. They were fabulous and the love in that theater was incredible. Imagine how their parents, grandparents, family members and friends felt! Even the guests in the audience, not connected to a child, were impressed and very moved.

I congratulate Eddie, the kids, the management at Variety and, most of all, the parents of the kids who encourage them to find their moments in life when, no matter what, they can feel important and feel like stars themselves. They sure did last night!
