Lots of Lists … Beyond Gifts!

This is definitely the time of year when people make lists, wish lists. But, what about other kinds of lists can you make with the kids? The Top Three Things I did on Thanksgiving Weekend … or …. My Favorite Toys List … or … What I Liked Best about My Trip to Aunt Francyn’s or Aunt Jayne’s house!

The best part of making lists is that they are reminders for the future … reminders to jog your memory years from now. Wouldn’t it be great to keep a Toy List each year and then when your child is, let’s say, 20, he can look back and remember all those great toys he used to have? I had a book called “My Private Life” that I filled in my favorite movies of a specific year, my favorite clothes. I don’t think it goes back as far as my Poodle Skirt, but that would be fun to know what year I had one!

Try it with the kids … even while sitting at the doctor’s office or waiting for food at a restaurant to “kill” time. But, be sure you save these lists. Maybe keep a folder at home called “Ryan’s Lists” and read them every now and then.
