Letters of Memories

For new KIDFUN readers, you may not know that I write letters to my granddaughters. I think it’s probably easier for me than their moms to save all those memories. Whenever I find a few moments, I open their letters on the computer and add to them, bring them up on what new things they are doing or special memories we shared. I don’t read it to them, but I do send it to their parents to save, just in case there’s a computer crash here. Anyway, Ryan, who is four, has a 35-page letter after this morning. Sari’s is only about three or four pages, since she’s not quite a year.

This morning I wrote about our trip to Disney World. Ryan and I are keeping lists of her memories but her attention span is short so those lists will take time to build. I figured there were too many great, wonderful, and helpful memories to help us plan our next trip, so I just finished writing this little journal as part of Ryan’s letters. They probably won’t read this for years and years. Hm, I wonder if one day I’ll put them in a book. I should — it could be, “This is Your Life, Ryan Isabella!” and “This is Your Life, Sari Celia!” … It may not be exactly KIDFUN but I do hope it is a cherished gift one day.
