It’s Show Time!

I could almost ask when isn’t it “show time” for a young child because they have this wonderful way of finding a stage almost anywhere. It could be a section of the sidewalk or a bench. It could be a corner of a room or a step! It could be in their car seat just as well.

Encourage your kids to be the performers they are instinctively. The youngest of toddlers just love to belt out a song or do a little dance, once they get comfortable walking and talking. Introduce them and get the “crowds” quiet and ya’ never know what adorable little ditty you may hear coming from their mouths.

Ryan’s favorite expression is “Watch This!” I loved when last night she was kicking up her legs for her dance and said, “I learned this at the Nutcracker.” And, now, her grandfather’s getting in the act. Far from the ham himself, he mimics her and says, “Watch this!” and there HE goes twirling around, getting a huge laugh as he encourages her dramatic play in his own way.

It won’t last long when inhibitions might get in the way of putting on a show so savor this wonderful time when your kids are young and join them … get in the act, too!
