Grandma and Poppy’s Photo Books

Last night I heard such a cute story that I wanted to share it with you. Maybe you’ll try it for the kids who are special in your life. Do you ever make Photo Books? How ’bout for the kids? What a fabulous keepsake!

Our friends Terry and Steve Wasserman, a.k.a. Grandma and Poppy, love being with their grandchildren. All seven of them! They span in age from 8 to 10 months. Because they live long distance, they often take family trips together or spend time babysitting at their houses for spans of time. Terry loves to take pictures of the kids and, now she makes them photo books. If Eric, Adam and Richard’s families are all together on a trip, she makes books for each family. Some of the books have titles like “Fun Times with Grandma and Poppy” with the date.

The other night when one of their grandchildren, Cate, went to sleep, she took Grandma and Poppy with her. Well, their books. What a lovely thought for these long distant grandparents!

Terry is now writing these books in simple language as more of the kids are learning to read and it’s a teaching tool, too. What a terrific idea, Terry!

As her daughter-in-law Stacey said, “Thank you for documenting my kids’ childhood.” She’s not only archiving the kids growing up years, she’s cementing memories of those great family gatherings — forever!

Sharla Feldscher has always been a "kid-believer!" She's written six books on creative activities to enjoy with young children and has written for magazines, newspapers, broadcast media and now has this blog with one easy-to-do KIDFUN tip each blog. She is also the owner of a public relations business in Philadelphia.
