Being Innovative – Like Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs will go down in history as one of the greatest innovators of all times and what a better tribute than to encourage your kids to be as creative and resourceful as possible. How do you do that? Well, try this — put a bunch of “stuff” on the table — like little boxes (cardboard jewelry size), colored paper, glue, stickers, gift wrap pieces, buttons, paper clips … ya’ know, stuff. Don’t give any directions but join in the fun and see what kind of collages each person can make. Have the kids look for more stuff — how about raiding the pantry and using dried spaghetti, cereal, uncooked peas … Be silly. Laugh and, whatever you do, DON’T be judgmental of each other. Anything is possible — that’s what Steve Jobs would say.
