Balancing Act

Yesterday I visited the Moorestown Moms’ Club and met terrific moms and their kids while playing KIDFUN with them. (Thanks for inviting me, Hope and Jill.)

How great! They gave me some tips for fun that I can share with you. While I was showing them how much fun it can be to challenge everyone in the family to see who can balance a paper plate on their head the longest, Lailah Bolton, who is almost four years old, gave me a tip. She bent her arm with it stretched out to the side and balanced the paper plate on it.  I tried it, too — pretty easy! Thanks, Lailah. I love that she took my idea and put her own twist to it.

I wonder what other ways you can get your kids into a Balancing Act with paper plates. One mom balanced a plate on her outstretched hand that looked like a waiter holding it high.

I’ll share more ideas from the Moorestown Moms — there were so many I had to write them down!

Sharla Feldscher has always been a "kid-believer!" She's written six books on creative activities to enjoy with young children and has written for magazines, newspapers, broadcast media and now has this blog with one easy-to-do KIDFUN tip each blog. She is also the owner of a public relations business in Philadelphia.
