Being Part of History – Savor it AND Save it!
Okay — I have all these KIDFUN ideas to write but I just can’t do it. I’m reveling in witnessing, being part of, history last night at the Phillies game when Roy Halladay hits a No-hitter in the Post-season. Only the second time in baseball history!
It was mayhem. It was total joy! No one wanted to leave the ball park! And, I just can’t seem to get it together this morning. So — here’s a real stretch, if I talk baseball language, save it! Do your kids a favor and when history happens (even when they’re too young to understand or remember it), SAVE IT! Buy the newspaper and save the front page — the history-making story. When your kids are old enough, have them do it with you. Go the store — check out the papers, buy them together and save them in a very special place!
(You should see the newspapers I’ve saved over the years — figured my kids, even grandkids, might need them for a school project! Truth is, I love having them and I’m gonna’ love saving today’s newspapers because … I WAS THERE … part of this historical night!) GO PHILLIES!
