I know this is such a funny title for KIDFUN but yesterday after Hope, my daughter, told me that Sari, now nine months old, was playing around with crackers on the floor, and then putting them in her mouth, my friend Linda said … “My kids did that all the time! But, what I did was give them a rolling pin and some dough and let them have fun with it.” It’s almost hard to imagine, but you could put oil cloth or a plastic tablecloth on the floor first and then not worry if some of their newly prepared “food” (even crushed crackers) made it into their mouth. I bet Linda’s floor was really clean …. perhaps, not like mine!

Thanks, Linda — she also reminded me that her kids (now adults) had their own very low, kitchen drawer filled with great stuff to play with like wooden spoons, plastic containers, unbreakable bowls and much more.
