While They’re Young … Share Your Interests

Are you an art lover? How about music or dance? Take advantage of your preschooler’s youth, while she is open-minded and happy for your attention, and share your favorites with her.

Lately, I feel like Ryan is truly sharing my special interests and it’s so much fun. I couldn’t believe when my son-in-law Scott told me Ryan has been asking to return to the Art Museum in Philadelphia. We took her as an “adventure” in the winter and I didn’t think she liked it, well, not as much as I had hoped. But, obviously I was wrong. They are returning today and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I also love tap dancing and I showed her on YouTube Gene Kelly dancing to “Singing in the Rain”. She was glued. We looked for more — we found Shirley Temple with Bill Robinson tap dancing up the steps in one of her classic movies. We found more and more and, while I sometimes think she gets restless quickly, she couldn’t get enough. I had a ball and so did she! Try it with anything that is fun for you — cars, baseball cards, playing golf … anything!
