Kidfun

The Handbook by Ryan Munro, 4 1/2

KIDFUN is brought to you today by Ryan Munro (okay, my granddaughter who is almost 5). It’s making a book of hands — of very special hands in your life — stapling each individual page and giving it a title! That easy. Ryan has always loved tracing her own hand and mine and I was so proud of her when she came up with this idea.

Have your child trace her own hand on one paper, her mom, dad, sibling, grandparents’ each on their own papers. If she can, she writes their name on each page and carefully, with your help, staples the papers together into a book. I guess they could have called it Ryan’s Special Handbook … with the date. Any title works.

Try it! AND, send me your child’s KIDFUN ideas. I bet we could all write KIDFUN forever with all their natural creativity!

Sharla Feldscher has always been a "kid-believer!" She's written six books on creative activities to enjoy with young children and has written for magazines, newspapers, broadcast media and now has this blog with one easy-to-do KIDFUN tip each blog.
