Music and Art – A Great Combo for Kids

The Philadelphia Museum of Art places a lot of value on families and Sundays are filled with Family Programs. I happened to be there last week and loved watching the Ken Ulansey Band members playing upbeat music for the kids and families. The kids couldn’t help but get into the rhythm and beat and get up and dance. Here’s a picture of Ken with kids gathered around him fascinated by his sax! My hat’s off to the Museum’s programming dept.  because the music is sophisticated yet kid-friendly ideal to attract parents and their children, of all ages!

The Ken Ulansey Ensemble has been playing music festivals, clubs, weddings and pretty much anywhere that great grooves and good vibes are welcome.  Ken himself has played classical music at Lincoln Center, jazz at the Newport Jazz Festival, traditional at the Philly Folk Festival. Check them out! And check out the Museum of Art — the one in Philly — or the one closest to you, no matter where you live. Maybe they, too, combine music and art!
