Kidfun

Lotsa’ Letters!

This KIDFUN idea will vary depending on the age of your child. It’s basically sit at the computer together and having your child type the initial of her first name. But, on a computer, it’s really fun because it can be all different colors, all different sizes and all different font styles. Of course, an older child can do this by typing his first name or by typing rhyming words, etc., etc.

Think back when you were little. For me, it was a big a deal seeing my name in print. Of course, I had to learn how to hold a pencil and write on a paper to do that!

*** I just saw this suggestion in one of my books, The KIDFUN Activity Book, Expanded Edition, 1995 (HarperCollins). It said … “Many households probably have a computer …” That was 15 years ago! I never imagined I’d actually be writing a regular column on a computer, a column called a “blog” that you can read without buying a newspaper or magazine. It was only 15 years ago and look how things have changed!

Sharla Feldscher has always been a "kid-believer!" She's written six books on creative activities to enjoy with young children and has written for magazines, newspapers, broadcast media and now has this blog with one easy-to-do KIDFUN tip each blog. She is also the owner of a public relations business in Philadelphia.
