Do You Believe in … Pixie Dust?!

I was celebrating the holidays with friends at the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (DVAEYC) and on the table was some “pixie dust!” Well, that’s what we called it. It was the tiniest pieces of sparkly confetti scattered around.

One of us picked it up and felt the consistency, and I think it was Sharon who called it Pixie Dust. (of course, we were at a DVAEYC party!) And, then Peg said something like “Do YOU believe?” Or, some kind of adorable comment that Tinkerbell might say.

And, I thought what fun to sprinkle some imaginary Pixie Dust on a child and say, “Believe in yourself … believe in your dreams!” What magical wish would you offer a child? Use some “Pixie Dust” — it couldn’t hurt!

  • It is much more magical to live in hope and possibilities…this is true for the young and the young at heart!

  • I have a holiday stamp and stamp pad. All my greeting cards get stamped with the word “Believe”. Doesn’t matter what connotation people take – believe in Santa, believe in a religious idea, believe in people, believe in oneself. I think belief is what separates us from animals. What do you believe in?

  • What a sweet idea! I just made my granddaughters little vial necklaces with this dust inside to wear and remember they are magical beings!
